joylab develops customised sensor solutions for Angst+Pfister Sensors and Power. One of the projects included the development of an optical encoder, which is used as a control knob to set the parameters of a heart-lung machine; for this, the encoder must meet very strict haptic requirements. The sensor is characterised by defined static and sliding friction torques as well as its long service life.
