Task: Development of hardware for the navigation of autonomous robots

joylab has developed a powerful embedded computer board for the company Sevensense, which enables the precise navigation of autonomous robots with the help of camera data and artificial intelligence.
Sevensense is a spin-off of the ETH Zurich that specialises in the development of hardware and software solutions for precise position measurement and navigation of mobile, autonomous machines. Such controllers are used, among others, in robots for parcel delivery or autonomous cleaning machines.
The core elements of this development include high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB3.1, MIPI), wireless connectivity (Wifi, Bluetooth, LTE), a sophisticated power supply concept and expandability through various add-on modules.
Hereby, the focus is not only on the technical performance of the hardware, but also on issues such as producibility, EMC conformity, accessibility and compatibility with other components.
